9/17/2014 – Spending a night in Ft. Pierre, SD.

Yes, I could have driven all the way in one day from one workamp position to another. Could have taken one night – but for me the journey is so much a part of what I do – having only two days between – well, that’s so fast. So, I kept my eyes out for another place to visit after leaving The Badlands. When I got to Ft. Pierre and saw a sign for the city park – I had to check it out.

Walking in the City Park - that's the Missouri - the Bad River is directly in front, hiding between the grass and the rocks on the further bank.

And it was time to head to Gettysburg, SD and my new job – I’m sure I only saw a small, small piece of Ft. Pierre and Pierre – will go back sometime. Maybe a day trip from Gettysburg before the weather gets bad.
