Denise comes to Visit
Texas February 20th. 2012, 10:54am
Beth, Conni, Denise on the beach in Port A
My friend Denise came for the long weekend, and we spent lots of time out and about. I even remembered my camera some of the times. Of course, we ate out a lot – back the first day for lunch in Rockport at Jama’s – posted about with pics before. Denise, Conni and I talked, and gabbed, and watched a few movies, and talked and gabbed. Well, yes, gabbed a lot.
We went into Port A and had lunch back at Virginia’s another day. Love watching out on the water – and we got lucky because as busy as they were, we got a table overlooking the water again. And I had one of their absolutely fantastic crab cakes for lunch. They list it as an appetizer, but for me, lunch.
Saturday night we went into Corpus and had dinner at Fajitaville – a fairly new restaurant, which we give mixed reviews to. They need to get their act together in many ways, but the hors d’oeuvres we had were fantastic. And my dinner was as well. Unfortunately, there were some negatives, and Conni’s dinner was dry – but I would try it again, someday, maybe.
Sunday, the sun came out – yippee – and we headed into Port A to go to the beach (the top picture of us – Peaches didn’t get a mention, as she turned her back!).

A Perfect Day for Flying a Kite
No, we didn’t fly a kite, but talked about it. This was my favorite one – and a young boy kept it up for the entire time we were on the beach.
We headed into Port A for lunch, and first stopped at Moby Dick’s.

After all that, we decided to not wait the 20 or so minutes for a table and headed on out – when we remember the Port A Brewing Co – yes, another good choice in Port A.

We actually had a meal at home for dinner – we did on Friday night also – then headed out to see if we could get some good pics of the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge. Not sure why, whether the wind effected it, or just wasn’t using the right setting, but some colors blurred – plus the bridge was not going through it’s colors as often or going into the blues as much.
We stopped by the USS Lexington to take some of the bridge pics – so, of course, I took a pic of it at night:

The rest of the pics here are some of the Harbor Bridge. Not nearly in the class of seeing it in person, or the pics my friend Sheryl has taken – but hey, they are mine!

Denise took off this morning – and I’m supposed to be getting my taxes ready for the accountant … well, I have the rest of the day for that, right?

Interesting post. I don’t remember ever seeing the bridge lit up so that will be something to see at March GTG.

The lights were new around the beginning of Dec 2011, I believe.

Great fun Beth! I’m excited to get to see this new to me part of Texas!
